All Things Paris- Wall Art

Sometimes we just need a special piece of art to complete an already decorated corner or an empty wall. It could be a girl’s bedroom or a college dorm, and that hand made piece would add a special touch to the room.

Today, something amazing happened and I need to share it with you. A customer from Europe purchased one of my drawings not just because she loved it, but because she said that the girl in the picture looks just like her, including the coat. How many times that could happen to an artist? All I could say was to congratulate her for looking like a fashion model. I am so happy that my pieces are seen as an image of a real person. It is exactly how I feel.
Here is the watercolor print that she got:

Coming back to Paris, toady I will share with you a few Paris inspired, some mixed with fashion art pieces that I or Susan created.
Enjoy!

Color Trends - Black and White

Two of my favorite colors aren't actually colors because they don't appear on the color wheel.  I love black and white and I bet you do too.   I've put together a collection of black and white items.  Enjoy!

Spring 2014 Fashion Trends

Yesterday I cleaned out my closet.  Out with winter and in with spring and summer.  I managed to fill up 4 garbage bags of clothes for Goodwill that either didn't fit me or that I didn't like anymore.  That gap has led me to my quest for what's in fashion for Spring 2014.

Here are some of the things I have found on Pinterest this week.

2014 Design Trends

According to designer Jessica Kelly in an article in Style at Home the five biggest design trends for 2014 are:

Contrasting traditional with contemporary items -

Large scale patterns, particularly animal prints - Animal prints have been popular for a long time but this season they are larger and bolder than ever.

Antique mirrors - Mirrors have always been a great way to bring in the light.

Black and white - Always popular in fashion or interior design; this classic style is one of my favorites.  The color white symbolizes purity and black has always been the ultimate of sophistication.

Luxurious textures - What could be more luxurious than this rug?

Do you notice the one thing that all five pictures have in common?  They're all black and white!

Here is some black and white artwork for your enjoyment.

So to sum it all up, you just can't go wrong with black and white.  Next week we'll talk about fashion trends.  I bet black and white fashion will be one of them!
